Description

The True Spirit of Mexico
For years, master distiller Arturo Fuentes Cortes dreamed of creating a superior tequila that captured the essence of Mexico. Having perfected the drink, he needed the perfect brand.
The Birth of the Rooster
The rooster, a famous symbol of Mexico, was a natural choice, and the red rooster (king of the roosters) seemed especially appropriate.
Tequila Volcano
The shape of the bottle is inspired by the Tequila Volcano, which can be seen in all its splendor from the distillery. Its stopper is made in the traditional style.
Quality that excites
Made from 100% premium agave, Rooster Rojo is aged under controlled humidity to ensure a stable and sustainable process. Each batch is blended to ensure consistent perfect taste.
Process / how the magic is made
Location
Rooster Rojo Tequila is produced at the Fabrica de Tequilas distillery Finos”, located in the city of Tequila, State of Mexico, State of Jalisco, at the foot of Tequila Hill. The plant began operations in 2000, but is located in a beautiful old building from 1923.
Agave
Rooster Rojo Tequila is made only from 100% Weber blue agave. Agave comes from Los Altos de Jalisco and the Tequila region.
Preparation
Pins that arrive at the factory are cut into pieces of 2 or 4. We do not use a diffuser, cooking takes place in autoclaves using steam for 10 hours.
Fermentation
Special yeast is added to the juice. They have been used since the beginning of work and are the secret of the main distiller. Fermentation lasts up to 72 hours before the liquid can be distilled.
Distillation
Double distillation is carried out in stainless steel tanks, which preserves the natural aromas of 100% premium agave.
Filtration
The water used to blend Rooster Rojo tequila is filtered through Mexican silver, resulting in a softer, smoother drink. We are the first tequila brand to do this.
Maturation
Reposado tequila is aged in large French oak barrels for at least 2 months. A?ejo is aged in 200-liter bourbon barrels for more than 12 months.
