Adapter USB 2.0 - Slimline SATA 13pin 6+7pin CD/DVD drive laptop

USB 2.0 - Slimline SATA adapter is used to connect devices with a Slimline SATA connector to a computer's USB port. Basically, laptop CD/DVD drives have this connector. The Slimline SATA connector uses the SATA interface.
The Slimline SATA connector has 13 contacts: 6 contacts signal part and 7 contacts power part. The signal part of the connector is electrically identical to the standard SATA signal connector, but has a reduced width and reduced pin pitch. The power part of the Slimline SATA connector has a reduced width and a reduced pitch of the contacts in it. The contacts of the Slimline SATA power part provide a voltage of 5 V, without providing 12 V and 3.3 V.
Physically, the SATA and Slimline SATA connectors are completely incompatible with each other.
To use the adapter, you need to connect a device with a Slimline SATA socket to the Slimline SATA connector. Next, you need to connect the USB connector of the adapter to the USB port of your computer. No driver installation is required - the adapter supports Plug and Play. The adapter can be connected to a computer USB port of specification 2.0 or 3.0.
The adapter supports the operating systems Windows XP/2003/Vista/7/8/10, Linux, MacOS 10.
There is a green LED on the body of the Slimline SATA connector, which lights up when the adapter is connected to the USB port of the computer.
The length of the adapter cable is 360 mm, which makes it possible to manipulate the position of the connected device.
