"(Sittin’ on)" — the song is written to The Dock of the Bay by the American singer Otis Redding and the guitarist Steve Kropper. Redding wrote down it twice in 1967, and the second time shortly before the tragic death in plane crash. In 1968 the song was published as a single on a label of Stax Records and became the first in the history posthumously published single which reached the 1st place in the USA. In Great Britain in a chart of UK Singles Chart the single was on the 3rd place.
B 2004 the Rolling Stone magazine placed the song "(Sittin’ on) The Dock of the Bay" performed by Otis Redding on the 28th place of the list "500 greatest songs of all times".
