Structure

Active ingredient: pregabalin;

1 capsule contains 50 mg, 75 mg, 150 mg or 300 mg of a pregabalin;

Excipients: lactose monohydrate, starch corn talc capsule cover: gelatin, water, the titan dioxide (E 171), sodium lauryl sulfate, silicon dioxide colloidal, ferrous oxide red (E172) (for capsules on 75 mg and 300 mg) blackened: shellac, ferrous oxide black (E172), propylene glycol, potassium hydroxide.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to active ingredient or to any of the excipients listed in the section "Structure".

Drug Lyrics is taken irrespective of meal.

Overdose

After medicament entry into the market it was reported that the most frequent side reactions at overdose of a pregabalin were drowsiness, confusion of consciousness, excitement and concern. Also messages about spasms arrived.

Treatment of overdose of a pregabalin consists in the general supporting actions and if necessary can include a hemodialysis.

Side effects

Frequent registered side reactions were dizziness and drowsiness. Side reactions usually were easy or moderate degree. In all controlled researches the medicament withdrawal rate because of side reaction was 12% among the patients accepting pregabalin and 5% among the patients receiving placebo. Dizziness and drowsiness were the most frequent side reactions which led to medicament withdrawal of a research in group of a pregabalin.

Interaction

Pregabalin can enhance effects of ethanol and lorazepam. In controlled clinical trials the simultaneous repeated oral administration of a pregabalin with oxycodone, lorazepam or ethanol did not lead to clinically significant influence on breath function. During post-marketing supervision it was reported about cases of respiratory insufficiency, a coma and death at the patients accepting pregabalin together with other medicines oppressing the central nervous system function, in particular at the patients abusing such substances. Pregabalin probably strengthens the disturbances of cognitive and main motor functions caused by oxycodone.
