Description

On a quiet, moonless night on April 15, 1912, 600 kilometers from Newfoundland, the most famous maritime disaster in history occurred. The most innovative ship ever built by an engineering genius hit an iceberg and sank, killing 1,517 passengers and crew. The Olympic class ship was called Titanic and turned out to be a symbol of the superiority of the forces of nature over the human mind. Despite the terrible accident that caused the disaster, the Titanic is worthy of admiration as the most perfect creation of shipbuilders of the early 20th century. At the time of launch, it was the largest passenger ship. Its length was 269 meters, which is approximately equal to three football fields, and its width was 28 meters. The height from the keel to the mast was 56 meters, which is approximately the height of a modern 20-story building. The weight of the ship was 52,310 tons. This is almost 300 Boeing 747 aircraft.

Titanic embodies the most advanced technologies. Two steam engines and a turbine produced a power of 55,000 l/s. A pair of three-bladed side and four-bladed central propellers gave the ship an acceleration of up to 42 km/h. The entire ship was electrified. Electric bulkheads were installed between the hold compartments, which closed when water was detected. Improved communication systems made it possible for the captain and duty officer to monitor all ship systems. When choosing ship models to create the design, Metal Time's engineers first of all turned to the impeccable history of the early 20th century and named the model “Lost at Sea”. Two propellers, four funnels, four decks, anchors with chains, hold spaces with a gearbox and an electric motor - this ship is created for those who are partial to technical masterpieces. Numerous components and details of the model will give you the joy of technical creativity for many priceless hours. Taming the metal and realizing the result will leave an unforgettable impression and a feeling of belonging to significant creations of the past. "Lost at Sea" is a tribute to the courage of the inventor and the bravery of the crews of the great steamships of the 20th century. Therefore, the Lost at Sea model should undoubtedly become part of your collection.

Lost at Sea is one of the largest models of Metal Time . This is confirmed by the super-size of the super-steamer, which became its prototype. Therefore, the number of parts and elements in this model is several times greater than in simpler prefabricated models. This guarantees a fascinating immersion in the theory and practice of shipbuilding in the era of steam engines. The model is equipped with an electric motor with a gear train, rather than a steam engine, which drives the ship's propellers. The ship's hull is supported by a demonstration platform. Curly cuts are made on the sides to imitate waves. Observation cutouts on the sides make it possible to observe the operation of the mechanisms.

The Lost at Sea prefabricated model will decorate the interior of the home of lovers of the adventure novel “The Sea Wolf”. The legendary super-steamer repeats the unprecedented love story of a romantic schoolgirl and conveniently symbolizes luxury and innovation on the businessman's desk. Precise cutting of the set eliminates the possibility of cuts during assembly. The parts fit tightly together and will not lead to problems with the joints. Pleasant tactile sensations, durability and aesthetics of polished metal distinguish steel parts structurally from plastic or wooden ones used in other construction sets. The corresponding flat packaging, made of easy-to-maintain, environmentally friendly cardboard, combines the solidity and aesthetics of a status gift.
