"Love Gun" (Russian. "A love gun") — the sixth studio album of the American rock group Kiss which left on June 30, 1977 at the American recording studio of Casablanca Records. An album was recorded at the American recording studios of "Record Plant Studios", "Electric Lady Studios" and "Sterling Sound", New York, the USA, during May, 1977. A producer of an album is the legendary sound engineer and the producer Eddie Kramer cooperating with such performers as The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Beatles, AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and many others. Eddie Kramer was a producer of the first concert, and the fourth in an official discography, an album Kiss "Alive!" (1975) and the previous fifth album "Rock and Roll Over" (1976). Also participants of the Kiss group were engaged in producing of this album.
Album received positive reviews from the leading musical editions. AllMusic delivered to an album almost at most – four and a half stars. Before "Love Gun" was complete, the poll the analytical company "Gallup poll" showed that Kiss were the most popular group in the United States, having won against Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin and Eagles. In Velikobritniya the popularity of an album was such high that it surpassed latest albums of the same rock monsters of those of years in sales in the British musical market.
Hit "Christine Sixteen" was published by a single and reached the 25th place in charts of Billboard Hot 100 and 22 – in charts of RPM100 Singles of Canada; took the 46th place in charts of Germany and 99 – in The Kent Music Report of Australia. The hit of an album "Love Gun" of the same name was published by the second single and reached 61 places in charts of Billboard Hot 100 of the USA and 41 – in charts of RPM100 Singles of Canada. Eto was the first song which Stanley wrote, arranged and produced entirely. The Love Gun song was sung on each concert tour from the moment of an album exit. The author and the performer of a song Paul Stanley noted it as one of favourite songs of Kiss. This song had high rotation and is often broadcast on radio stations of classical fate. The Then She Kissed Me song (a cover version on a classical pop hit The Crystals of 1963) is published by the third single and reached the 78th place in charts of The Kent Music Report of Australia.
Album "Love Gun" took the 4th place in charts of the USA of Billboard 200; The 2nd place in charts of Japan; 3 – in RPM100 of Canada; 6 – in Sweden; 13 – in The Kent Music Report of Australia and 18 – in Germany. "Love Gun" is also the second album of group which became Platinum; subsequently it reached the threefold Platinum status.
