Description

tablets Ferrofol are appointed for treatment and prevention of deficiency of iron without anemia (latent deficiency of iron) and an iron deficiency anemia (clinically apparent deficiency of iron) at states with the increased need for folic acid during pregnancy or during feeding by a breast. Deficiency of iron and its degree has to be confirmed by the corresponding laboratory researches.

Structure

Active ingredient: gland (III) hydroxide polimaltozat, folic acid.

1 tablet contains gland (III) hydroxide polimaltozat 357 mg that is equivalent to 100 mg of iron, folic acid of 0.35 mg.

Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, cocoa powder, sodium cyclomate, polyethyleneglycol 6000, talc, vanillin, dekstrata, fragrance chocolate.

Contraindication

  • Hypersensitivity or intolerance of active ingredient or any component of medicine
  • excess content of iron in an organism (for example, hemochromatosis, a hemosiderosis);
  • frustration of mechanisms of removal of iron (lead anemia, sideroakhrestichesky anemia, a thalassemia)
  • anemia, did not predetermine by deficiency of iron (for example, hemolytic anemia, the megaloblastny anemia caused by insufficiency of B12 vitamin)
  • a stenosis of a gullet and/or other obstructive diseases of a digestive tract an intestines diverticulum, intestinal impassability, regular hemotransfusions; malignant new growths, not treated deficiency of cobalamine;
  • simultaneous application of parenteral forms of iron.

Route of administration

Drug Ferrofol, chewable tablets, it is necessary to accept in time or right after food. It is possible to swallow of tablets entirely.

Treatment of an iron deficiency anemia with the increased need for folic acid:

1 chewable tablet 2-3 times a day.

After normalization of level of hemoglobin of blood: 1 chewable tablet a day at least before childbirth for restoration of reserves of iron.

Treatment and prevention of latent deficiency of iron with the increased need for folic acid: 1 chewable tablet a day.

Overdose

Against the background of administration of medicament Ferrofol in case of overdose was not recorded either symptoms of intoxication, or excessive intake of iron in an organism in connection with features of controlled discharge and hypotoxicity of a polymaltose complex of ferrous hydroxide (III) (LD50 at animals> 2000 mg of iron/kg of body weight). Inadvertent the overdose with a lethal outcome was not reported about cases.

messages that the overdose of folic acid can cause changes in the central nervous system (changes of a mental state, change of a sleep pattern, irritability and hyperactivity), nausea, an abdominal distension, a meteorism Are available.

during the research in vitro was not observed by

interactions of a polymaltose complex of ferrous hydroxide (III) with such food components as phytic acid, oxalic acid, tannin, sodium alginate, sincaline and salts of sincaline, vitamin A, D3 vitamin and vitamin E, soy oil and soy flour.
